Rooster in Review: I Missed a Chance to Heckle Sam Randazzo
You might be asking yourself, who the hell is Sam Randazzo?
As I mentioned yesterday, we’re passing the hat for the young daughter of my friend who got murdered in the Short North. Here’s the Gofundme, as well as a 50% off coupon to The Rooster. I will donate all proceeds to the daughter’s fund.
As always, thanks. for reading The Rooster.
I was biking north past the condos on Grant Avenue yesterday, just south of Livingston in German Village. I noticed a wan brunette man air blowing some leaves outside the sidewalk as I biked past blaring an Irish rebel playlist out of my Bluetooth speaker.
I was up the block before I deduced that I had just passed Sam Randazzo, the disgraced former PUCO chairman who accepted a $4 million bribe from FirstEnergy to look the other way during the passage of HB-6.
I knew where Randazzo lived from the articles about the FBI raiding his condo. I also knew he had since sold it to one of his children.
I decided to confront him. I got my phone out of my backpack and worked out a quick battle plan. I’d bike up on him, ask if he was Sam Randazzo, then ask how he was sleeping knowing he would likely face federal bribery charges in the near future. If he walked away I could just call him a fucking bum. The hogs love when you call once-powerful people “fucking bums.”
When I biked back down S. Grant, however, Randazzo had disappeared back into his condo. Not wanting to be charged with breaking and entering in the hunt for viral content, I decided our first meeting would have to wait for another day.
I apologize to my readers for not instantly placing him as I passed him. I’m sure it’s been awhile since a public citizen gave him a piece of their mind as he lived his tranquil life in German Village.
This week in Ohio Man…
I’ll give this week’s honorary Ohio Man this much… he understands the Tao of the Poster.
From Mark Feuerborn of nbc4i.com:
CINCINNATI (WCMH) – A Cincinnati man accused of flying into the Bengals’ stadium mid-game is just one of two people facing prison time over illegal drone operations at sporting events.
Dailon Dabney, 24, of Cincinnati, illegally flew his drone on Jan. 15 into Paycor Stadium. The drone went over players and parts of the stadium crowd, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Ohio. Dabney posted footage of his illegal flight on social media and a Youtube channel called BrickByBrickFilms.
The pilot, who U.S. Attorney Kenneth L. Parker said did not register his drone with the Federal Aviation Administration and was not properly certified, welcomed the attention he received from federal agents.
“Who wants this faa video ?? [sic] 100 likes and I’ll drop it,” Dabney – acting as another account, BiggangGaming – commented on the Bengals flight video. “I have ring camera footage of the faa and fbi coming to my house !! Just thinking wen should I drop it [sic].”
Words of advice: The FBI and FAA do not enjoy you making content out of their raids. I’m surprised this guy made it 24 years in life without going to prison before this.
This week in The Rooster…
Only four dispatches this week as I took Tuesday off to celebrate my father’s 72nd birthday in Cincinnati.
J.D. Vance Got Cucked at His Own Rally. Vance said he wanted people home by 8:30 to watch Ohio State. That didn’t happen.
The Ohio State School Board Will Show Its Soul. I got this prediction wrong: the State School Board voted to recommend the Ohio Legislature use ARPA funds to finance free meals for students. It will vote on the anti-transgender motion in October.
Mike DeWine is the Best Governor Ohio Will Have for the Rest of Our Lives. This week’s free dispatch. DeWine is on cruise control to re-election, and sadly that means he’s likely the best governor we’ll have for the rest of our lives.
National Republicans Drop Q-Anon Insurrectionist Like the Bum He Is.
As always, be sure to follow The Rooster on Twitter for all of Ohio’s insanity, all the time.
THOSE WMDs. Want to take a COTA bus after an Ohio State home game? You can’t… Two Ohio Supreme Court candidates won’t say if the 2020 election is legitimate... Akron Children’s Hospital latest to face online threats for gender-affirming care… Johnson & Johnson and a new war on consumer protections… Nobody really knows what muscle knots are.
